This course requires the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to attend:

• Hard hat

• High vis

• Laced up safety boots

• Gloves

• Safety glasses

• This refresher accreditation provides learners with a refresh of their understanding of ladder safety, pole checking and climbing, joint user poles and the associated hazards and potential risks. It also helps learners’ awareness of compliance with health and safety legislation. The accreditation tests learners’ knowledge, skills and understanding of dangers associated with these works and the safety precautions required while working on ladders and wooden poles. This accreditation is assessment only.

• This accreditation ensures that learners involved in working on ladders and poles are suitably trained and accredited to the National Occupational Standard (NOS). This accreditation is aimed at those working on ladders and wooden poles in a telecommunications environment. This accreditation does not cover roof top working.

• This accreditation will be assessed through a practical and knowledge test. The aim of the assessment is to ensure that successful learners have adequate knowledge and understanding of overhead safety when working on ladders and wooden poles. Learners will undertake a 30-minute practical assessment and 30- minute knowledge test.

• NB – Proof (i.e., an in-date, valid SA001 certificate) must be provided prior to course commencement.
