  • This course is tailored to your requirements and can be held at either your site or at our training centre.

  • This course is designed to provide foundation training in the safe operation and maintenance of a Forward Tipping Dumper. It is suitable for operators of all abilities and those who have previously received no formal training or instruction. The course is delivered through a combination of classroom-based theory and practical hands-on training.

  • This course is suitable for any delegate wishing to gain a NPORS Forward Tipping Dumper certificate.

Course Overview

Course Aims

It is envisaged that by the end of this course of training the learner will be able to answer questions on and perform the following:

  • Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as an operator

  • Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machine to be used

  • Be able to locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions

  • Be able to locate and identify key controls and explain their functions

  • Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturer’s and legislative requirements

  • Identify and maintain PPE appropriate for forward tipping dumper use

  • Prepare the forward tipping dumper for use and operate safely and efficiently

  • Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area

  • Attach and set trailers, ready for operation

  • Environmental considerations

  • Storage and transport of implements and attachments

  • Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures

PPE Required

This course requires the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to attend:

  • Hard hat

  • High vis

  • Laced up safety boots

  • Gloves

  • Safety glasses

Note

Experienced workers, categorised as those with having either 18 months provable work experience and/or 6 months consistent daily experience in the category, will be able to undertake an Experienced Workers Test (EWT) which may in turn reduce the course duration and cost, please call us to discuss your requirements as necessary. Completion of a EWT will allow experienced workers to take the NPORS Theory and Practical tests required for a NPORS certificate.
